Travelers from nations as diverse as Canada, Spain, Australia, and the Czech Republic will converge on the coastal city, many utilizing Viva Aerobus’s direct routes from domestic hubs like Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara. This logistical support is essential for an event that has evolved from a local gathering into a cornerstone of international LGBTQ+ tourism for the region.
Vallarta Pride officially opens on May 17, the same day the world observes the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. The schedule offers a wide array of activities designed to celebrate identity and community, including the Pink Dinner, the high-energy Drag Derby, and the Rainbow Race. Culture takes center stage through various art exhibitions and the Diversity Gala, ensuring that the festival provides both entertainment and meaningful reflection.
The highlight of the week, the Pride Parade, will commence at 4:00 pm on May 21. The procession will travel along the Malecón and through downtown Puerto Vallarta before celebrations continue with live entertainment and street parties in the Romantic Zone. Events like the Pet Parade further emphasize the festival’s welcoming atmosphere, inviting residents and tourists alike to participate in the inclusive spirit of the city.
