APRIL 12 UPDATE: Diana Villamonte opened her new show, Solid Gold, to an enthusiastic audience this past Wednesday night. With her director extraordinaire, Chris Lopez, Diana has created a dazzling, non-stop performance that includes wonderful choreography, gorgeous costumes and a host of fabulous songs. We heard fabulous hits like, “Lady Marmalade,” “Chain of Fools,” “Respect,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It?”, “Simply the Best,” an Edda James tune, “Unbreak My Heart”, “Do You Believe in Love After Love?”, Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love”, a medley of Donna Summer’s songs, Miami Sound Machine’s “Conga” and more! Diana was accompanied by her band (bass, lead guitar, drums) and 2 lovely background singers (including her very talented sister, Bigi).
