Jalisco Surpasses 300 Gold Medals at CONADE National Olympics

Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico – The Jalisco delegation continues to strengthen its dominance at the 2026 CONADE National Olympics, surpassing an impressive milestone of 300 gold medals after another successful week of competition across multiple sports.

The landmark medal was secured in Mérida, Yucatán, during the Canoeing competition, where athlete Evelyn Cerón earned gold in the women’s 500-meter canoe event for the 13-14 age category. Her victory marked another proud moment for the state delegation, which has maintained a commanding lead in the national standings.

“It was a very emotional experience and truly a recognition for Jalisco because of the support my coaches, teammates, and fellow athletes have given me,” Cerón said following her victory.

In just 11 days of competition, Jalisco added another 100 gold medals to its already impressive total. The state now leads the overall medal table with 311 gold medals, well ahead of Nuevo León with 176 and Baja California with 128.

Several sports played key roles in pushing Jalisco to the historic mark. Fronton (similar to Jai alai) contributed six gold medals, while Water Polo added five and Skateboarding delivered four more, with all three sports also capturing team championships.

Fencing and Rowing combined for 13 gold medals, while Boxing added four medals and Field Hockey contributed two, helping Jalisco secure a runner-up finish in that discipline.

Additional success came from Judo with eight gold medals, Karate with seven, Sailing with two, and Rodeo with one more gold medal for the state.

Competition remains intense as Jalisco athletes continue participating in Canoeing, Taekwondo, Bowling, and Athletics. At the CODE Revolución Sports Complex, Athletics coach Luis Montes was honored with a plaque recognizing his 56 years of dedication to the sport.

This week, the Jalisco delegation is competing in Athletics and Bowling in Jalisco, Softball, Inline Hockey, and Golf in Puebla, Taekwondo in Tlaxcala, Canoeing in Yucatán, and Open Water Swimming in Nayarit.

With less than two weeks remaining in the 2026 CONADE National Olympics, Team Jalisco is preparing for key competitions in Weightlifting, Wrestling, Trampoline Gymnastics, Speed Skating, Table Tennis, and Artistic Swimming, sports in which the delegation has traditionally delivered strong performances.
