Puerto Vallarta, México – Ada Vox, the diva known as “The Voice of Drag”, brings her rafter shaking voice & masterful musical storytelling back to the Coco Cabaret this season on Wednesdays at 5 pm. Ada’s new show is a journey through song where she lays it all out on the stage. From emotionally stirring renditions of songs we know and love, to music that makes you want to dance, this show is for anyone who loves music and how it moves us all.
From San Antonio, Texas, Ada Vox is proud of her Mexican-American heritage. She started singing early in life and got her start with live Mariachi bands. She’s been seen on America’s Got Talent, Canada’s Got Talent, American Idol, Queen of the Universe and was crowned Miss Texas Continental Plus.
Last Wednesday’s show was a full house of enthusiastic fans. Ada and drag star Qya Crystal treated us to a duet of the popular tune, Some People and the audience loved it!
Ada then thrilled us with the Michael Buble favorite Feeling Good. In an emotional tribute, she went on to dedicate a song to her Grandma who she lost this past year. And later there was a song dedicated to her Mom.
Ada entertained the audience with stories of her time on reality TV competitions and the ups and down of being a performance artist. We were reminded of how ‘persistence’ is an important quality for every musician/entertainer to possess, because success doesn’t happen overnight.
We enjoyed video clips of Ada’s television appearances and especially enjoyed her Jennifer Hudson Show clip. Ada even treated us to a flute performance proving that she is a Queen of many talents! My favorite moments were the videos of her Mariachi days followed by her live performance of a famous Mariachi song. She even put down the mic and belted out some fabulous tunes.
We heard an amazing rendition of a song from The Greatest Showman and the Tina Turner favorite, Simply the Best. Surprise guest entertainers are also a feature of this fabulous show!
My takeaway from this performance is that Ada Vox is an amazing talent with an incredible vocal range. She is very likeable and proud of her heritage. This gal is unstoppable, going strong, and headed for fame. I would definitely go back and see this show again! Ada, “You not only have astonishing talent, but have the ‘cajones’ to make it in the music biz! Keep going, girl and I know we are going to see a lot more of you in the future!”
