Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Cafe Bohemio’s Sol Rose presented a musical tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra at The Palm Cabaret on February 14 & 24, selling out both shows to enthusiastic audiences. Sol Rose is not only a restaurateur, but a lovely singer. Add to this his charming, eccentric personality, his rich history as a performer, and his vast knowledge of entertainment, and it’s no wonder that Sol delivered what could only be described as the most delightful and fun afternoon show you could hope for.
Ol’ Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra included fabulous crooner songs, fascinating stories and an interesting look into the life and music of Frank Sinatra. Joining Sol was the amazing Bob Bruneau on piano and 3 very impressive local musicians on drums, horn and sax.
Sol thrilled the crowd as he crooned songs like, “The Coffee Song,” “One for My Baby,” “Come Dance with Me,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “It Happened in Monterey,” “Lady is a Tramp,” “High Hopes,” “Witchcraft,” “I’ve Got a Crush on You,” “New York, New York” and more!
Sol Rose is a legend around Puerto Vallarta and has a following of folks who just love him! His Sinatra tribute included fascinating background videos and information about each Sinatra song and how it all fit into the incredible career of one of music’s most beloved legends. Sol’s smooth vocals were perfectly matched to the world’s most recognized crooner and his comfortable, undeniable connection with his audience throughout the performance was simply awe-inspiring. This show was a wonder to behold as the entire audience smiled and sang along enjoying each moment of the performance.
Careful thought and preparation went into creating this fabulous performance, from Sol’s crooner costume to the interesting selection of songs and background stories to the outstanding musicianship that each member of the team demonstrated. We can only hope that additional shows are added and that we see a lot more of Sol Rose in Vallarta’s entertainment scene. Sol is what you might call an ‘Oldie, but Goodie!” But actually, he looks fabulous, moves with ease and is downright handsome as Ol’ Blue Eyes!
