Summer News from the Entreamigos Community Center in San Pancho

San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico – Entreamigos began in 2006 on a kitchen table in the middle of a San Pancho street. Today, housed in a giant warehouse recognized as a model sustainable facility, it is an active community center with classes and workshops, a scholarship program, a bilingual library for children and adults, a computer center, an extensive recycling program, a gift store and the Recicla thrift shop. Here’s the latest news from Entreamigos:

Let’s make an unforgettable summer possible for more children in San Pancho!

Every summer, Entreamigos warmly welcomes more than 200 children from San Pancho and nearby communities to experience two weeks full of creative, recreational, and educational activities. From swimming, art, sports, and dance to theater, cooking, and outdoor games, our summer camp is a transformative experience that leaves a lasting impact on all participants.

Women Who Create: Transformation with Purpose

Women Who Create (Mujeres que crean) is a community program that promotes the empowerment of women in San Pancho by providing tools for personal development and economic strengthening.

Through workshops in glasswork, plastic, screen printing, and sewing, participants create over 50 upcycled products, transforming recovered materials into jewelry, art, accessories, and toys with unique identity. Each step in this process represents not only individual growth but also a positive impact on their families, community, and environment.

We invite you to visit the Entreamigos gallery and take advantage of the last days to discover and purchase the latest creations of this inspiring and conscious community project.

Cultural and Knowledge Exchange at Entreamigos

The first days of June, the Entreamigos environmental team warmly welcomed high school students and teachers from the Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico Agropecuario de Tepecoacuilco de Trujano, Guerrero.

The day began with a birdwatching outing guided by Luis and Quetzal Morales from San Pancho Birding, who shared their knowledge about local birds and ecosystems in San Pancho.

Back at Entreamigos, we held a wild seed exchange, strengthening food sovereignty and biodiversity conservation in our region.

We concluded with a succulent workshop where we learned how to propagate plants, prepare substrates, and care for them using resources available at home.

We deeply appreciate this day full of learning, connection, and hope, as we continue building networks for a more sustainable and conscious future.

Scholarship Students Participate in Model United Nations

Five students from Entreamigos’ Scholarship Program were invited to participate in a Model United Nations (MUN) event at the Instituto Internacional in Chapala. Each student represented a country and collaboratively worked to find solutions to a global issue.

We are proud to see how their effort, dedication, and perseverance led them to this enriching experience, where they challenged themselves and demonstrated the essence of learning, growth, and teamwork.

We congratulate all participants on their recognition certificates, especially Brisa, who was awarded Best Delegate, and Kimberly, who received Best Position Paper and an honorable mention as a delegate.

We also sincerely thank Fundación Punta de Mita for sharing this experience with their young participants from Compas, fostering meaningful and unforgettable connections.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the Instituto Internacional for welcoming our youth and providing them with this unforgettable opportunity.

Wildfire Prevention Training for the Entreamigos Team

On Tuesday, June 24, the Entreamigos team participated in valuable training on wildfire prevention and response, prompted by recent fires in the region. We had the participation of representatives from CONANP, Civil Protection, and the Environmental Directorate of the Bahía de Banderas Municipality, who shared key tools to act safely and effectively.

We thank all the people and institutions that made this training possible. We reaffirm our commitment to caring for the environment and ensuring the safety of our community.

Located at Av. Tercer Mundo No. 12 in San Francisco, Nayarit, Mexico, Entreamigos is an active community center whose primary focus is to increase educational opportunities for the children of San Pancho.
