February Events and Voting Help for U.S. Citizens in PV

Puerto Vallarta, México – The Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad Mexico has announced a full slate of February activities in Puerto Vallarta, focused on community connection and voter assistance for U.S. citizens living in the Banderas Bay region.

The month kicks off with the chapter’s monthly Coffee Time on Tuesday, February 3 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Langostinos on Playa de los Muertos, Open to residents and visitors alike, the gathering offers an informal setting for conversation, networking, and meeting fellow U.S. citizens. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance, though walk-ins are welcome.

In addition to social events, the chapter is placing strong emphasis on voting support ahead of the 2026 U.S. primary and midterm elections. Trained volunteers will provide assistance with the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), which serves as both voter registration and ballot request for Americans living abroad. Voter assistance will be available every Wednesday in February from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Let’s Pho PV Vietnamese Kitchen, located at 179 Lázaro Cárdenas in the Zona Romántica.

Organizers note that ballot requests should be submitted at the start of each calendar year, and some states have already begun sending March primary ballots. The chapter is also seeking additional volunteer voter assistants and invites interested individuals to request more information by email.

The mid-month focus shifts to Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas’ organizational leadership and formal planning during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Evening Social on February 12. Taking place at Casita & Garden from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, the meeting will include elections for interim board positions, including Vice-Chairperson and Members-at-Large, for the remainder of the 2025–2027 term. Nominations are now being accepted. If you are interested, or have questions about leadership positions, qualifications, or commitment, please send an email to DACB.membership(at)gmail.com.

Following the conclusion of official business, the event will transition into a social hour featuring complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drink specials. Please RSVP if you can make it. Feel free to bring a friend!

Together, these events represent a concerted effort by the Costa Banderas Chapter to maintain a visible and helpful presence for the American expatriate community in Puerto Vallarta. Whether through a social event or voting assistance for U.S. citizens abroad, the chapter continues to bridge the gap between life in Mexico and civic responsibilities in the United States.
