A Review: Sweet Dreams: The Eurythmics Experience at Coco Cabaret

Puerto Vallarta, México – Experience the Annie Lennox and Eurythmics Tribute at Coco Cabaret featuring the remarkable talents of Delilah Beaucoup! This electrifying show includes 12 iconic hits, highlighting powerful vocals, sensual choreography with 4 sexy dancers, and captivating visuals, promises an unforgettable night that will leave you inspired and energized! Don’t Miss this epic experience on Fridays at 5:00 pm.

Delilah Beaucoup has been a fan of Annie Lennox for decades and has devoted many hours and incredible energy into creating this fabulous performance. Delilah has worked tirelessly to bring this breathtaking show to Coco Cabaret and word is spreading about this amazing show! Last week the venue was packed and you could feel the anticipation in the air.

What makes this show so appealing is the perfect combination of professional choreography, stellar vocals, background stories and the history of one of rock’s most iconic singers. Annie Lennox’s work with the Eurythmics and her solo career are featured. Delilah’s vocals are spot-on and she looks and acts just like the original star. There are multiple costume changes, choreographed dance routines and 2 superb background singers (Patriz & Annette). Musician David Fernandez accompanies on many songs with both classical and electric guitar. And Kudos go out to the sound & lightening techs for their contributions in making this a first rate show!

Ann Lennox is a Scottish singer-songwriter, political activist and philanthropist. She and fellow musician Dave Stewart achieved international success in the 1980s as the Eurythmics. When she appeared in the 1983 music video for Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) with orange cropped hair and wearing a men’s lounge suit, the BBC wrote, “all eyes were on Annie Lennox, the singer whose powerful androgynous look defied the male gaze” Her commitment to feminism, political activism and philanthropy is highlighted throughout Delilah’s show.

Annie Lennox has been named “The Greatest White Soul Singer Alive” by VH1 and one of “The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time” by Rolling Stone. In June 2013, the Official Charts Company called her “the most successful female British artist in UK music history”. By June 2008, including her work with Eurythmics, Lennox had sold over 80 million records worldwide. Although embarking on a solo career, she eventually returned to performing as the Eurythmics.

Throughout Delilah Beaucoup’ Sweet Dreams performance, we heard favorite songs, like Love is A Stranger, Thorn in My Side, Here Comes the Rain Again, Right By Your Side, Missionary Man, No More I Love Yous, Walking on Broken Glass, Why, Miracle of Love and of course the show’s signature tune Sweet Dreams.

Sweet Dreams: The Annie Lennox/Eurythmics Experience is one of the best performances that I have reviewed this season. I highly recommend that you put this on your list of “must see” shows while you are in Vallarta. This is much more than a tribute. It is a window into the incredible talent of 2 women: one who gained international fame as a singer, songwriter and activist, and the other who helps us celebrate the music and the message of one of rock’s most influential icons. Sweet Dreams is featured every Friday at 5 pm at Coco Cabaret by The Palm.
