MiMi Bomba Shares Puerto Vallarta Dining Favorites

Puerto Vallarta is filled with unforgettable restaurants, hidden gems, beachfront favorites, and comfort-food spots that keep locals and visitors coming back for more. For MiMi Bomba, dining out is about more than just the food – it’s also about the people, the atmosphere, the views, and those little moments that make each place special.

Hola Amigas y Amigos

Here are some of my favorite menu items here in Vallarta – in my never-to-be-humble opinion:

Bravos: Carrot Cake. Hugs from Michael. Friendly, efficient wait staff. All the food is excellent, but I am always thinking about the carrot cake I’m going to have at the end of the meal. (Did I mention Michael’s hugs?)

Daiquiri Dick’s: Asian Chicken Salad. View of the Bay. Full disclosure, it’s the only thing I’ve ever had there because I like it so much. Sometimes I sit at the bar. Sometimes I sit at a table inside or on the patio, and sometimes I sit on the beach, so I am not entirely a creature of habit – But always the Asian Chicken Salad.

La Carreta: Sopa de Pollo. Toes in the sand. Guapos bringing me cervezas y comida! Always welcoming. Always good people-watching.

El Cuñado: On the way to the pier. Mama cooking everything fresh on the outside grill. And so inexpensive. No need to wait in line for great tacos and quesadillas!

Vaca Argentina: Caesar Salad con Pollo. And, of course, the steaks! It’s called Vaca Argentina for a reason!

Mama Colibri/El Amparo: Next to The Palm. Shrimp tacos, They do not scrimp on the shrimp! (The rhyme was inadvertent, but I like it.) Also, shrimp ceviche, marinated in lime, as it should be! Reasonably priced and good service on the patio or inside.

Serranos on Pulpito in Alta Vista: Filet Mignon (Rojo for me) and a dirty vodka martini. (One! I have had two I think, but I can’t remember; I don’t know why that is.) Not cheap, but the view and service make it worth it! Always fails to disappoint.

That’s all for now! Enjoy Vallarta! The food, the people, the culture, the sunsets! (I am pretty sure the sunrises are lovely too. I will have to get up in time to see it one of these days…)

I love Puerto Vallarta. I love Mexico.
