“Sustainable Gardening” with Dan Gair
Originally a commercial fishing boat captain, Dan traded fish for film in 1984 by hiring on as Chief Photographer at a local newspaper. In the 20 plus years that followed, Dan shot assignments for, and had work featured in, such diverse publications and organizations as The New York Times, Gourmet Magazine, The United Nations, and UNICEF.
In the early 2000’s, Dan initiated and chaired a Municipal Energy Commission in Southern Maine and also served on the Maine/New Hampshire bi-state Energy Commission. In 2017, Dan initiated an Energy Committee for Puesta Del Sol Condominiums in Puerto Vallarta.
In 2009, Dan and his wife Holly moved to Jalisco, Mexico full time where they lived off-grid and opened a sustainability education center at their property Rancho Sol y Mar. Since then, they have taught or hosted classes, workshops and retreats in natural building, solar photovoltaics and water heating, artisan cheese making, composting, and plant medicines.
In 2018, Dan self-published a memoire of his and his wife’s experiences called “The Mexico Diaries: A Sustainable Adventure,” which has a 4.6 average rating on Amazon/Kindle/Goodreads.
We hope to see you on the 10th!
