This award-winning Puerto Vallarta restaurant was originally housed in Marina Vallarta but has relocated to a new location in the Romantic Zone, at Aquiles Serdán 445 overlooking the Rio Cuale. In the kitchen, Chef Joel Ornelas brings a unique and fresh approach to traditional Mexican cuisine, elevating simple dishes to the extraordinary, with a focus on local ingredients.
His approach has won Tintoque a place in the Guía de México Gastronómico 2019 as one of the 120 best restaurants in Mexico and, of note, Tintoque is the only restaurant in the city to have been recognized by the prestigious guide published by Culinaria Mexicana.
Chef Joel Ornelas is a Puerto Vallarta native who worked as an apprentice in several notable restaurants in Mexico City, Spain and England. He then returned to Vallarta to blend his culinary education with his love for Pacific Coastal Mexican cuisine, creating Tintoque.
His menu highlights daily specials based on the best and freshest ingredients offered at the market, along with seafood, proteins, and several vegetarian options, making Tintoque an easy choice for any table’s preferences. To accompany your meal, there is a creative cocktail list and a thoughtfully curated wine offering.
Choose from a table in the interior dining room which has a vibrant ambiance but isn’t noisy, allowing for easy table conversation, or dine alfresco on the terrace overlooking the river. Tintoque is open for dinner service Monday through Sunday from 6:00 to 11:00 pm with additional lunch service on the weekends from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
